As an unfortunate pandemic graduate and (very) small town girl, any professional prospects in the creative industry seemed far away for Rae, but that didn’t stop her. Rae came on board as Agile Collective's design apprentice in March 2022.
Life before Agile Collective
After leaving Nottingham Trent University as a Fashion Communication and Promotion graduate, Rae co-founded Juice, a magazine and collective facilitated by and for creatives, writers and artists from the South Asian diaspora. She has since published three magazines and worked towards creating positive spaces for the South Asian community.
She is a ‘Zine* Queen’ (new job title pending) facilitating multiple workshops for marginalised communities to create art and explore themes of health and wellbeing.
*Zines are little hand-made magazines: They can be anything you want them to be.
When not at work
Rae's New Years resolution to read more seems to have taken hold. She is an avid collector of coasters, tote bags and magazines, so she is always easy to buy gifts for.
She has a huge house plant collection that started while she was at university after she made a pact with herself that if she could keep one plant alive for a month she would buy more and it never stopped.
