Theory of Change Workshops

line pattern

Define success. Align your team. Drive meaningful change.

Our Theory of Change Workshops provide a powerful framework to clarify your organisation's goals and map the path to achieving them.

What is an Agile Theory of Change?

A theory of change is a comprehensive description and illustration of how and why a desired change is expected to happen in a particular context. It's a vital tool for purpose-driven organisations to:

  • Clarify long-term goals.
  • Identify necessary preconditions for success.
  • Understand the connections between actions and outcomes.
  • Align team members and stakeholders.

Whether we're working with UNICEF, WHO, or grassroots organisations, our goal remains the same: to bring diverse stakeholders together and chart a clear path forward, by simply asking, “how will we know we have succeeded?"

It's incredibly rewarding to see the 'aha' moments, as participants align their visions and clarify the objectives in a short space of time.

Our Workshops

In just two hours, our highly specialised facilitators (Rae, Steph, and Richard) will guide your team through a collaborative process to:

  • Define the ultimate impact: What long-term change do you aim to create?
  • Be clear about what success looks like: Agree the important outcomes and targets.
  • Generate outcomes: What needs to happen to achieve your impact?
  • Map activities: What actions will lead to these outcomes?
  • Explore assumptions: What beliefs underpin your theory? Identifying these is crucial for testing and refining your strategy.

Throughout this process, we emphasise stakeholder involvement. Including diverse perspectives from staff, trustees, partners, and even beneficiaries ensures a robust and well-rounded theory of change.

Why Participate?

  • Gain clarity: Develop a shared understanding of your organisation's goals and strategies.
  • Improve strategy: Identify gaps in your current approach and opportunities for improvement.
  • Enhance communication: Create a clear visual representation of your work to share with stakeholders.
  • Boost effectiveness: Focus resources on activities most likely to drive change.
  • Facilitate evaluation: Establish a framework for measuring and demonstrating impact.

Who Should Attend?

Our workshops are ideal for:

  • Leadership teams.
  • Program managers.

From the moment I reached out to Agile Collective, I was impressed by the effort they gave in making my project come to life, and of course by their high quality of work.

In particular, Agile Collective's project management is excellent - estimates were very reliable, implementation was well coordinated, communication was easy and regular. Their team roles are effective and well defined, each member is clearly a leader in their technical field, and all offered top-notch problem solving, creativity, and collaboration. I am not exaggerating when I say Agile Collective are the most organised, professional, and pleasant team I have ever had the pleasure to work with.
