Simon Chapman
Developer, Migration specialist
Pronouns: he/himAs an experienced web developer, Simon joined Agile Collective in August 2022 and has been integral in making sure our Oxford office doesn’t gather dust.
Life before Agile Collective
Simon is a local government veteran with nearly 15 years of experience under his belt, from Adult Social Care to Zero Emissions Zones. He first started working in the sector as a 6-week contracting assignment to help deliver a payment system and ended up leading a team responsible for developing digital services for the citizens of Oxfordshire.
Along the way, Simon became one of our clients and got to know our team over a few post-OxDUG pints, bonding over our shared passion for agile methodologies and open-source software.
When not at work
Simon is slowly but surely refurbishing his house, a project that provides endless opportunities for learning new skills and occasionally remembering why professionals exist. When not wielding a paintbrush or contemplating plaster, he can be found tinkering with his home network, running everything from home automation to 'definitely necessary' backup solutions. Long distance cycling provides the perfect counterbalance to all those hours at a desk or in a cloud of dust – what starts as 'just a quick spin' often turns into an all-day adventure.
